The groundfloor at Triftstraße 19A is a project space that is owned and until 2018 run by the architects Charlotte Erckrath and Maik Ronz. The former retail unit is at the same time an exhibition space, a workshop and an ongoing poetic restoration project, where space and textures are apparently ever changing.

The project may be understood as a tool to question the use and programming of space. Different ideas about what the space might be and how it could be inhabited have changed and evolved over time and during the process of elaborately crafted building work. The unfinished makes its actual quality that continues to narrate the actions taken upon, relating the time spent with accumulating processing and crafting material. It is the gaps in the constructed and unconstructed that raise questions about what is was and what it may become.
