The work brings to attention this light situation in an unfamiliar way. What gets drawn is an accumulation of many moments, processed into a numerical code of dots with values of grey shades. Edouard Cabay is interested not only in the meditative process of executing a drawing as a given set of parameters - each dot is translated into a time ranging between 0 seconds for white to 30 seconds for the darkest tone - but also in the idea of being the human executor of a machine code or to say it bluntly he turns himself into a plotter driven by precise timing, while producing repetitive moves with the pencil on the drawing plane.
